Francis G. Rushford is head of IP finance and managing director at Pretium Partners' Legal Opportunities Group, where he is responsible for the sourcing, identification, assessment and underwriting of patent litigation and monetisation opportunities. He has successfully monetised intellectual property assets for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Pretium Partners, Mr Rushford founded and served as Managing Director of RSL Holdings, Inc., an intellectual property company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that worked with Global Fortune 250 companies. He also founded the Patent Trading Desk at ICAP and was a partner at Christie Parker & Hale, a leading intellectual property firm. Mr Rushford has held several senior leadership positions throughout his career, including Founder, Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer of Skarven Enterprise and Kestrel Enterprise, Head of Intellectual Property at Cantor Fitzgerald, and a global patent licensing role at Lucent Technologies. Earlier in his career, he practised patent litigation at Poms Smith Land & Rose, Graham & James, and the Law Office of Francis G. Rushford in Los Angeles. Before entering the legal profession, he worked as an engineer at Texas Instruments.
