Mathias Hellman is vice president of strategy and value at Ericsson’s IPR & Licensing unit, where he oversees the strategic direction and value realization of one of the industry’s largest patent portfolios, comprising more than 60,000 granted patents. He leads the development of Ericsson’s global licensing strategy, ensuring strong returns on the company’s investments in wireless standards, media standards and foundational technologies for today’s devices, networks, and ICT infrastructure. Since joining Ericsson in 2011, Mr. Hellman has held senior roles across strategy and portfolio management. His work spans IPR strategy, patent portfolio development, acquisitions and divestments, open source policy, and guiding IPR considerations in R&D collaborations, standards development, and long term technology strategy. He holds an MSc in Intellectual Capital Management and a BSc in Software Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
