Shahrokh Nayeb Nazar is the vice president of technology, head of patent assertion and portfolio analysis at Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL). His team is responsible for developing Qualcomm’s global patent assertion and enforcement strategy, providing detailed technical analysis of third-party portfolios, and conducting technical discussions during the negotiation of global patent license agreements. Before joining Qualcomm in 2019, Dr Nayeb Nazar held a senior position at InterDigital, where he served as the head of delegation for InterDigital’s 3GPP RAN1 working group during the 5G standardisation process. With over 25 years of experience in wireless communications and the cellular industry, Dr Nayeb Nazar has been an active contributor to the 3GPP standards since 2008. His original scientific contributions have resulted in the filing of more than 300 US and international patent applications. He earned his PhD in electrical engineering, focusing on signal processing for communications, from McGill University.
