His expertise spans trial strategy, witness examination, and global litigation strategies, maximizing the value of clients' patent portfolios, including both standard essential patents (SEPs) and implementation patents. He has been consistently recognised for patent litigation by multiple legal publications. Richard’s practice covers diverse technology areas, including hardware (RF, analog, and digital), software, cellular, WiFi, security, encryption, and device fabrication. Before joining McKool Smith, he clerked for Judge Jorge Solis in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and worked as an electrical engineer designing circuits for advanced oilfield tools.
