Richard Kamprath is a principal in the Dallas office of McKool Smith. Richard Kamprath is a trial lawyer who focuses on licensing and litigation involving complex technologies. He develops and executes global strategies to maximise clients’ IP portfolios, including both standard essential and non-standard essential technologies. His experience spans cellular, WiFi, video coding, hardware, software, encryption, and wired and wireless communication systems. Richard Kamprath has achieved significant courtroom successes, including a $172m jury verdict against Qualcomm, a $15m jury verdict against Samsung, and exclusion orders in the International Trade Commission against Comcast. He has been recognised as a rising star in patent litigation by multiple publications. Before joining McKool Smith, Richard Kamprath clerked for the Honourable Jorge Solis of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He holds JD, MSc and BSc degrees in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University and Texas A&M University.
