Hasan Rashid is vice president, patent licensing - strategy and growth at Dolby, where he leads strategic initiatives across both mature and emerging standards-based licensing programs, with a particular focus on patent pools and collaborative licensing models. He plays a central role in identifying and advancing new growth opportunities for Dolby. He joined Dolby from GE Licensing, where he led the legal team within its corporate IP licensing business unit. Under his leadership, GE’s video technology licensing programs experienced significant growth prior to their acquisition by Dolby in 2024, and he continues to guide their evolution and expansion. Earlier in his career, Mr Rashid led the in-house team at Access Advance and prior to that practiced law at McDermott, Will & Emery. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
