Tom Brown is the head of IP litigation at Dell. In this role, Mr Brown manages litigation across the globe in all areas of IP, with a focus on patent litigation. Mr Brown also supports non-litigation disputes and licensing. Many of these disputes involve standard-essential patents. Mr Brown also leads Dell's IP policy efforts, and is a frequent contributor at industry conferences and events. He also serves as co-chair of IPO’s Post-Grant Committee, and previously co-chaired its Litigation and Remedies Committee. Mr Brown serves on the steering committee of the Sedona Conference Working Group 10 on Patent Litigation. He sits on the board of directors of the Alan D Lourie Boston IP American Inn of Court. Mr Brown began his legal career at a large intellectual property-focused law firm. Before his legal career, Tom was a software design engineer at Microsoft.
