Gabriel Bouvigne is head of IP at Sagemcom, a French industrial group developing communicating terminals and solutions for the broadband, audio video and energy markets. Mr Bouvigne leads the group’s intellectual property strategy, overseeing patent portfolio development, licensing activities and IP risk management across complex multimedia and communications ecosystems. With a technical background in software engineering, including work on audio and video compression technologies, he brings a strong understanding of standards-based innovation to IP strategy. In his current role, Mr Bouvigne represents an in-house, implementer perspective at the intersection of multimedia standards, product development and licensing. He works closely with engineering and business teams to address interoperability, freedom to operate and licensing challenges inherent to standards-driven markets, contributing to pragmatic and business-oriented IP decision-making.
