Shuang Cheng is qualified as a patent attorney and has more than 18 year experience in the field of IP, working on patent search, patent prosecution, patent invalidation, patent litigation, patent acquisition and patent licensing. In her years with Xiaomi, she has handled a dozen of global licensing projects involving nearly one billion dollars, having deep theoretical knowledge and practical experience in SEP licensing and FRAND rates. She was enrolled in the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University in 1999 and earned her masters degree from Tsinghua University in 2006. Afterwards, she joined Leader IP as a patent attorney and Ruijie Networks as head of IP team. In 2013, she joined the IP team of the start-up IP monetisation company Zhigu, which was acquired by Xiaomi later on to form the IP Strategy team.
