Eeva Hakoranta has a unique track record in creating value from monetising IP globally. She was recently inducted into the IP Hall of Fame by Intellectual Asset Management magazine (IAM) in recognition for her transformative work in the IP industry. She has been included in the list of “Fifty most influential people in IP” by Managing IP several times. The IAM magazine has featured her on the list of “Top 40 IP market makers” on multiple occasions and she has been consistently included in IAM Strategy 300. She is a frequent speaker in global trade political and intellectual property topics and has been characterized as “one of the patent dealmaking world’s absolute superstars’. Ms Hakoranta contributes more than 30 years of experience in the legal and licensing industry building and leading high performing teams and creating global business and enforcement strategies. She is founder and chief executive officer of Aligning Stars Oy, serving boards and select clients. Until recently, she was InterDigital’s executive vice president and chief licensing officer, responsible for overseeing the company’s complete licensing portfolio and activities. During her 5-year tenure in this role she built a world class licensing team and saw InterDigital´s licensing revenue treble and stock price multiply. Before joining InterDigital, Ms Hakoranta served more than 13 years at Nokia, most recently as senior vice president and head of IP and litigation. She was influential in building the company’s world class patent licensing team and multiplying its licensing revenue. Prior to joining Nokia, Ms Hakoranta served international and domestic customers in private practice at Roschier Attorneys Ltd in Helsinki, Finland. Alongside her operational activities, she has also served as board member in several private companies and as chairperson and board member in multiple intellectual property organizations. She was awarded a medal of honor of the Knight of the Order of the White Rose by Finland´s President Sauli Niinistö in recognition of her longstanding and distinguished service to Finland in December 2016. Ms Hakoranta holds an LLM from the University of Helsinki.
