Clay Gaetje has a long history leading global teams to design and scale licensing programmes that turn advanced research into recurring revenue. In his current role as vice president of licensing and head of video services/OTT at InterDigital, his focus is expanding new technology and video services licensing, a critical growth pillar for the company. With more than 20 years in IP and technology licensing, Clay has built and grown more than a dozen programmes across video, wireless, consumer electronics, financial, and other markets. These programmes have generated several billion dollars in high-margin revenue while consistently meeting public company objectives. He has negotiated complex global agreements with Fortune 100 companies, telecom and broadcasting leaders, cloud service providers, manufacturers, and innovators worldwide. Previously, Clay held senior leadership roles at Nokia, TiVo/Xperi, Gemstar/Rovi, and Kudelski Group/Nagra. Across these positions, he built cross-functional teams, opened new markets, and aligned IP strategy with long-term business goals. His expertise spans programme creation, global deal negotiation, litigation strategy, and ecosystem development. Clay is motivated by building programmes, teams, and sustainable revenue engines, and by advancing fair licensing practices that reward innovation and enable markets to scale.
