Marylauren is leading Olaplex in evolving its IP portfolio and fortifying the OLAPLEX brand to keep pace with the company's growth, innovation, and consumer demand, as well as protecting its current valuable IP assets. Before joining Olaplex, Marylauren was the director of IP for nearly a decade at Mary Kay Inc., the skin care company known for its direct selling business model, pink Cadillacs, and Mary Kay ladies, where she managed and grew its IP portfolio to over 10,000 IP assets and leveraged its IP portfolio to combat counterfeits, illegal parallel imports, and unauthorised sales Marylauren is now leveraging Olaplex’s IP portfolio, brand equity, consumer loyalty, and product fans to do the same, as well as to combat dupes. Marylauren and her marketing advertising team were even recognised by the beauty and advertising industry with a Glossy Award for Best Brand Launch Campaign for their #OLAPDUPE marketing campaign to educate and consumers about dupes and how IP can make a brand and its products undupeable. Marylauren is a registered US patent attorney and holds a JD from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Rice University.
