Peter Jovanovic is legal director for intellectual property at Dell Technologies, providing support for several business units. At Dell, he is primarily responsible for patent portfolio development, patent litigation, and open-source management. Before joining Dell, he was an associate patent attorney providing patent prosecution, litigation, strategy, and licensing services. Before becoming an attorney, Jovanovic was a software engineer, with experience in computer security, satellite communications, and logistic planning software. He holds bachelors degrees in computer science and mathematics from UC San Diego, a masters degree in computer science from San Diego State, and a juris doctorate from UC Hastings College of the Law. He is recognised by the IAM Strategy 300 as one of the world’s leading IP strategists, registered to practise before the USPTO, and is a member of the California Bar. Jovanovic was also an adjunct law professor, where he taught the primary legal and procedural requirements for preparing and prosecuting patent applications under US federal law.
