Samantha Hsu is a director of intellectual property on Uber’s legal team. She is responsible for leading Uber’s intellectual property strategy on AI and generative AI usage, the delivery business patent portfolio, legal transactions, and M&A deals. Samantha advises clients on a wide range of in-house matters, including product launches, commercial transactions, business partnerships, licensing, open source, and litigation. Before joining Uber, Samantha worked at an IP firm, handling patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation matters for her clients. Samantha has a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Los Angeles and a JD from Cornell University.
