Eric Lin is the vice president of strategy at Patlytics, the premier and market leading AI-powered end-to-end platform for the patent lifecycle offering workflow solutions for litigation, prosecution, licensing, and transactions. In his role, Eric is a part of the executive leadership team and is focused on translating his IP experience to refine Patlytics’ high-impact product and expand its global presence. Eric has over 11 years of experience representing startups to large multinational companies in high-stakes IP and technology-related litigation involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and complex commercial claims. At the law firms of Paul Hastings LLP, Morrison & Foerster LLP, and Baker Botts LLP, he has led and been a critical member of multiple litigation teams that have obtained favourable resolutions at all case stages, including at trial, summary judgment, and motion to dismiss. Eric’s practice has also extended beyond litigation, including into matters relating to patent prosecution, IP strategy/due diligence, and product counseling. His matters have involved a broad range of technologies, including hardware (eg, semiconductors, wireless), software (eg, speech recognition, network security), and biotechnology (eg, microfluidics for antibody drug discovery) for clients like AbCellera Biologics, Amazon, Nikon, Palo Alto Networks, and TSMC. In his pro bono practice, Eric has litigated civil rights claims, including violations of the US Constitution, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Rehab Act). He has been recognised for his legal experience, including by Best Lawyers in America as Ones to Watch in IP Law (since 2023) and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association as a member of the 2024 Prospective Partners Programme. Mr Lin received his JD cum laude from Fordham University School of Law and his BS in biological sciences with honors, specialising in molecular and cell biology, from Stanford University. While attending Fordham, he was a member of the Fordham Law Review, externed at the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and interned for former Chief Judge Jennifer B Coffman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. While and before attending Stanford, Mr Lin worked in infectious diseases and cancer biology laboratories and was published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
