Ming-Tao Yang served as the managing partner of Finnegan’s Palo Alto office before his current role of the partner-in-charge of community and belonging at Finnegan. Ming focuses on litigating patent disputes; negotiating license, IP, and technology agreements; and advising clients on IP enforcement, and strategic portfolio management. He has litigated and first-chaired over 100 litigations and arbitrations and negotiated and drafted over 400 IP licenses, including many involving standard essential patents (SEPs). Ming’s technical expertise encompasses semiconductors, wireless communications, artificial intelligence (AI), software, open-source software (OSS), and ICs. He draws on over 24 years of litigation, negotiation, and counseling experience to advise clients in Asia and the United States, and he has been recognized as an IP Star in California by Managing Intellectual Property and an outstanding alumnus and top 60 leaders in 60 years by his alma mater NYCU.
