Mathias Karlhuber is an expert in intellectual property rights in the fields of medical devices, Electronic Program Guides (EPGs), data security, semiconductor lithography systems, railway technology and aerodynamics. At COHAUSZ & FLORACK, he is primarily concerned with litigating and defending intellectual property rights in these areas before the UPC, the EPO and the German courts. He has worked for the firm as a patent attorney since 2001 and as a partner since 2005.
As a patent rapporteur ("Rapporteur Patents") of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) from 2015 to 2021, he informed the Intellectual Property Commission about developments in the patent system and represented the ICC at important international forums and congresses.
Since 1999 he has been admitted as a German patent attorney and representative before the European Patent Office and the EUIPO. Since early 2024 he has also been admitted to act before the UPC.
