Sean Thompson is managing director, IP investments, at Parabellum Capital. He is responsible for all Parabellum investments in the IP space worldwide. He also serves as the firm’s general counsel. Sean has been at Parabellum since 2018. He began his legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and also worked in the IP litigation group at WilmerHale. Immediately before joining Parabellum, he worked at a patent licensing and acquisition company. Ranked as one of the five leading IP funding practitioners by Chambers, Sean is also a member of the IAM Strategy 300 and has been recognised as one of 100 global leaders in legal finance by LawDragon. Sean earned his joint JD/LLM from Cornell Law School, where he was an editor of the Cornell Law Review. He received his BA from Boston College and his MS from the London School of Economics.
