The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) is a national bar association that represents the interests of lawyers in private and corporate practice, government service and the academic community. Their members comprise a diverse spectrum of individuals, companies and institutions involved directly or indirectly in the practice of patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition law and include both owners and users of intellectual property.

Formed in 1897, AIPLA maintains a high standard of professional ethics, aids in the improvement of IP-related laws and their proper interpretation by the courts and provides legal education to the public, its members and other industry professionals on IP issues.

AIPLA is at the forefront of IP law, leading a diverse IP community and promoting the adoption of strong and balanced laws both in the United States and worldwide.
